Tips for Reviving Your Skin After a Long Weekend

Greetings,

The midweek came and went so fast! I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing…or exciting, long weekend! After some time away from your usual routine, your skin might need a little extra TLC. Here are some personal tips to help you revive your skin and keep it glowing.

I’d love to hear what you did for your long weekend. As for me; I partied and ate–A LOT! I don’t know about you but I’m not entirely diet-conscious during a long and social weekend. My sugar and processed food intake increases during those 2-3 days. With that, comes skin dehydration, gut inflammation, and potentially a mini breakout. If you can relate, then you’ll definitely want to keep reading.

Here's what I did to revive my skin:

Topical Antioxidants: Antioxidants neutralize free radicals generated by unhealthy dietary choices, and can assist in reducing inflammation and preventing cellular damage. This helps to restore our skin’s natural barrier, promote healing, and enhance radiance. I used my Glymed+ Vitamin C Cleanser for my second cleanse, and Restoring Fulvic Elixir during my serum application.

In addition to being essential for collagen formation and skin brightening, Vitamin C also contains wound healing properties and improves the barrier function of the epidermis by reducing Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL). Vitamin C is essential for skin health.

Fulvic Acid is a powerful antioxidant that contains anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. After a long weekend outside in the pollution, my skin cells have been exctatic over this serum.

*Tip: Drinking natural juices and eating fruits like berries, grapes, and oranges are absolutely amazing for internal antioxidant intake as well.

Gentle Exfoliation: After Cleansing, I used my Epicutis Enzyme to slough off dead skin cells and brighten my complexion. This type of exfoliation doesn’t involve scrubbing and feels like a bubble bath on your face. It’s soothing and gives a spa experience in-home.

Upping Hydration: I’ve been extremely intentional about drinking my salt water. I use Celtic Salt and add a pinch to my water to help my skin absorb and retain water better.  Incorporating water with a pinch of Celtic salt into your daily routine can promote healthier, more hydrated skin.

Topical Hydration: I made sure that I loaded up on my high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acids during my skincare regimen. I used Epicutis Lipid Serum, and my Glymed+ Ultra Hydro Gel. These 2 products are rich in hyaluronic acid which is essential for skin health. Hyaluronic acid will increase the water retention capacity of the skin which increases hydration. Hyaluronic acid will attract and hold 1000x its weight in water. I don’t know one skin concern that won’t benefit from hyaluronic acid.

Using a Heavier Moistuizer: My go-to moisturizer this summer is Glymed+ Oxygen Cream however, after this weekend I’ve had to turn to my Barrier Repair Moisturizer to ensure that my skin is experiencing the maximum healing benefits that my routine had to offer.

Cutting Out Processed Sugar: This one isn’t as easy for everyone to go however, it can be done.

That was long, however, I know theres so much value in it that can really change the game for your skin.
